Hi, Sorry to bother you again about cpu. As I said I aim to have CPU available in sarge. From a rapid calculation it seems that for this to happen a realistic deadline would be to have it uploaded for the 8th of september.
This considering it takes about a week for the ftpmasters to scrutinize and approve a new package, the usual 10-days delay for testing, and the fact that the distribution will freeze on the 1st of October (unless there are delays for the toolchain to be fixed, which I cannot tell). So, unless you have a package ready for that date I'll have to upload it myself, and maybe after that we can co-maintain it in sid. (with ready here meaning: with no packaging errors, and with a release quality standard) Obviously I cannot sponsor a package which doesn't follow the rules, since as a sponsor I'm fully responsible for what I upload. Anyway I'll gladly accept any contribution or bug fix for the package and the software. (Since I'm not so familiar with the CVS I'll upload the released one.) I hope you can accept this: normally I would have had no problem to give you more time to prepare a package I would accept to upload, but I had to adopt a more restrictive policy due to the time constraints. (I consulted about this with some other debian mentors, and they agreed it's a fair policy) Thanks for your contribution, Guido
