It looks like we already have the 7-Zip unrar code split on its own
source package in non-free (p7zip-rar). Have you contacted the p7zip
maintainer (CCed) to check what might be blocking updating the packages
to a newer upstream version, instead of duplicating them? Perhaps you
could collaborate on that instead?
