I just filed #984936 orphaning setcolortemperature in preparation for xsct to enter the archive. I think setcolortemperature should be replaced by xsct, since it is much better maintained upstream.
I had actually been thinking about doing some kind of transition to xsct for a while but never got around to it. Thanks to Mike for actually taking this on, sorry for leaving the setcolortemperature package in a mostly abandoned state for so long.
