I do not know. If you adopt it you are in position to decide. When I made the libxalan2-java version there were some incompatibilities but that is a loong time ago. By the way. If you see any other java packages that I maintain you are allowed to adopt it too. That includes cocoon too but you have to coordinate with the other people that are woring on that piece of software. java-common is an exception that I want to keep for some more time.
