Avoiding very generic names in /usr/bin is a good idea. Renaming is fine. If you think that few end-users will invoke the binaries, another option is to put them in a private directory (maybe /usr/lib/topcom/bin). That option seems less popular in Debian, and only used when there are really a lot of binaries involved. d
