It provides setuptools integration and can easily be used during the build of a Debian package: https://github.com/click-contrib/click-man#debian-packages As far as I know, current packaging practices involve either 1. writing a manpage by hand, which is a lot of work 2. generating it ahead-of-time with help2man or somesuch, and commiting it to the debian/ directory, where it might get out-of-sync with the actual program 3. not shipping manpages at all :( Automatically generating a manpage during package build would definitely be preferable to (2) and (3), and possibly to (1) if the result is of sufficient quality.
