Hello Martin, it's about two years ago while I was trying to convince Governikus Gmbh to open the source for that application. This conversion was not really user friendly and I gave up on that quickly. But well, it seems in between the German government has changed their mind on that. Definitely a step forward.
Unfortunately there is still a CLA signing needed to forward patches upstream. https://cla-assistant.io/Governikus/AusweisApp2 > 2. Grant of Copyright License. > 3. Grant of Patent License. I'm unsure if a package maintainer or at least myself will support such things as I diassagree on both points strictly. Now that even GitLab has take back their CLA requirement for good reasons it would be straight forward to be clear on that here too.
