Description : Python OpenCL BitCoin Miner
BitCoins are a digital currency, exchanged freely against
all other currencies. Coins may be issued by everyone, one
just needs considerable computer power - and luck. To even
out rewards for one's contribution, many initiative have
forms to provide pools of computers and share the load.
.
The Poclbm is a Python OpenCL bitcoin miner, i.e. it uses
the vector compute instructions of GPUs. This is so much
faster than a computation with CPUs, that one better invests
the energy for CPUs where the versatility in computation
is truly needed.
The package is already functional at
http://anonscm.debian.org/viewvc/pkg-escience/poclbm
but I am not feeling like maintaining the package for the
distribution. If you read this and feel like maintaining
it, even as a newbie to Debian, you may contact me as a
mentor/sponsor.
