I've been using wview for a while and would like to see it in the Debian archive as well.
I'm not a Debian Developer or Maintainer, but I've done some work on the packaging for my own use which included updating to debhelper 10 with dh, updating to the current standards version, running the daemons as non-root, using dh_apache2 to install the wview web directories, and lots of fixes for lintian warnings. I think the package would need a lot more work before it would be acceptable to the FTP Team, but if anyone is interested in working on it, they may find my changes useful for reference or as a starting point. The package is available at https://gitlab.com/kevinoid/wview with the standard git-buildpackage repository layout.
