Cool. I'm glad you're doing this; gnomechat looks cool. I started to work on this yesterday actually, and I ran into tons of libgtcpsocket bugs (well, in their 'make dist' target anyways), so I didn't get extremely far. I've attached my libgtcpsocket .diff.gz as a starting point in case you're interested.
