I did propose the name "berkeley-abc" quite quickly after first posting the ITP (and retitled the bug). It is already on mentors with that name (http://mentors.debian.net/package/berkeley-abc), and the executable is also called berkeley-abc now. I'm happy to maintain it as part of the Debian Science team, but I will first then need to learn how this works.
