Hi Thorsten, A .sosi file is a geospatial vector data format used for exchange of geographical information in Norway (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SOSI). The Norwegian Mapping Authority has released a huge number of files into the open domain now and this is therefore a useful utility to have.
But, I'll add this information to the Description in the control-file so no-one else needs to ask this question again! Thanks for making me aware of the lack of information.
