No need to start from scratch, but the current packaging needs some love in order to have a chance of being accepted in Debian - I forked your repository on github and started with that. If you like, we can try bringing twig into Debian together. I really would enjoy forming a team for this and (if possible for you) co-maintaining the package later on. -- Daniel Swiss
