(I assume the merge conflicts are against Debian patches, right?) Again: I'm not eager to package and test versions older than 1.4.8. And yes, I tried with 1.4.1. IMO we should just go forward and forget about older versions. We can still get 1.4.8 to wheezy as a backport, later on. If you want to give it a try, I can send you my changes to 1.4.1.
