Sorry, it has been 6 days ago, not several months. And actually I have built a package which is available under http://www.mathematik.uni-dortmund.de/lsix/geyer/debian (Source and powerpc-binary). I announced it on debian-mentors and I am still looking for a sponsor. If you had a look at it, I would be very happy.
