As a user of the NV drivers, I would just like to comment that if you are using recent versions of these drivers (and you are), you need not worry about using them provided that you do not hard-link any NV extensions. Doing so would be fatal for winex, so I will hope/assume they are not doing this. If they are, I will be happy to help fix it.
