There is no port of glibc, no. glibc had support for BSD 4.3, but
apparently hasn't been used or maintained since glibc1. All three BSD
ports are based on native libc's, not glibc.
It causes inconveniences from time to time, but porting glibc appears to
be more work than adapting Debian to live without it. This hasn't been
as hard as you might think. Most Debian packages already run on the
BSD's, anyway, so the major headaches tend to come from very Linux or
Debian specific packages.
If you or anyone else wants to port glibc, I'll be happy to use it when
you get it working. ;-)
