Hi, scim-uim is SCIM's uim wrapper, which serves some Japanese users. It has been several months after orphaning the package and nobody stands up to continue to maintain it. Users should move to other input method framework including uim (which is the origin of uim) and ibus. Popcon has shown that the user count of scim-uim is far behind uim itself (20 times less in "vote" section), which means most users have already migrated.
