The program is de facto orphaned upstream as Akim devotes all his time to GNU autoconf. A dedicated C hacker might even adopt this upstream if he showed good care. Debian has accumulated a few patches which upstream has not incorporated. No open Debian bugs, upstream ones are forwarded, and Lintian-clean (apart from two warnings about missing man pages for two auxilliary utilities).
