Indeed. The former maintainer (Christian Holm) did huge works in packaging ROOT for Debian and Fedora, and finally he left the game and no one officially adopted root-system, though Antonio Salvucci continues to maintain a non-official package in CERN [1]. My packaging will be based on their work.
