I haven't used xtermset for quite some time, but I think the general idea of it can be very useful in scripts.
There's another, on a first glance very similar package in Debian called xtermcontrol. It seems to have an active upstream and supports more commands, but not all of xtermset's commands are supported: $ xtermset GPF xtermset 0.5.2 [-store [<filename>]] [-default [<filename>]] [-force|f] [-title|T window-title] [-n icon-name] [-fg color] [-bg color] [-cr color] [-mousefg color] [-mousebg color] [-tekfg color] [-tekbg color] [-hc color] [-fn|font font-spec] [-geom size-spec] [-iconify] [-restore] [-refresh] Report bugs to b...@dds.nl. $ xtermcontrol --help Usage: xtermcontrol [OPTIONS]...
