As mentioned in the ITP, the tarball consists of three parts: 

* parti: the window manager that is not usable according to upstream 
  website. I haven't tried it actually, since my main interest is in the 
  xpra tool.
* xpra: a tool to detach/reattach running X programs, think of it as 
  'screen' utility but for X. Yet unlike VNC, the applications are 
  "rootless". This tool is the reason I am interested in making the 
  package available in Debian, it is usable, me & my colleagues use it 
  at work. Our use case is that we run some GUI CAD tools at work that 
  may take some long time, so we run those through an xpra session, then 
  we can check the simulation/synthesis when we get back home (over a 
  VPN connection), without getting sluggish response that you get when 
  using VNC.
* wimpiggy: a library used by the above tools.
