As mentioned in the ITP, the tarball consists of three parts: * parti: the window manager that is not usable according to upstream website. I haven't tried it actually, since my main interest is in the xpra tool. * xpra: a tool to detach/reattach running X programs, think of it as 'screen' utility but for X. Yet unlike VNC, the applications are "rootless". This tool is the reason I am interested in making the package available in Debian, it is usable, me & my colleagues use it at work. Our use case is that we run some GUI CAD tools at work that may take some long time, so we run those through an xpra session, then we can check the simulation/synthesis when we get back home (over a VPN connection), without getting sluggish response that you get when using VNC. * wimpiggy: a library used by the above tools. -- أحمد المحمودي (Ahmed El-Mahmoudy) Digital design engineer GPG KeyID: 0xEDDDA1B7 GPG Fingerprint: 8206 A196 2084 7E6D 0DF8 B176 BC19 6A94 EDDD A1B7
