I can reproduce it here.

Install the packages screen, ccal and htop. And then run either:

  echo q | htop | aha

or

  screen -c /dev/null -L ccal; cat screenlog.0 | aha

Compared to ls, both tools use foreground and background color at the
same time. Maybe this is causing the problem.
