Description : perf - Performance analysis tools for Linux
Performance counters for Linux are are a new kernel-based subsystem
that provide a framework for all things performance analysis. It
covers hardware level (CPU/PMU, Performance Monitoring Unit) features
and software features (software counters, tracepoints) as well.

The source code for this is already shipped in the linux-2.6 source package,
since this
tool is part of the Linux kernel.
However the tool is not built as a Debian package, therefore I filed this RFP.

Thanks for noticing.
It was added recently:
"-- Ben Hutchings <b...@decadent.org.uk> Sat, 10 Jul 2010 16:40:38 +0100
linux-2.6 (2.6.32-16) unstable; urgency=low
* Add linux-tools-<version> package containing the perf tool
(Closes: #548715)"
So I'm closing this bug.
(unfortunately linux-tools-2.6 is uninstallable with binutils from
experimental, but I filed a bug for that now).
Best regards,
