Hi,
As a maintainer I cannot dedicate the required amount of time to the phpBB3
package at this moment. Jeroen, the other maintainer, is still interested to
contribute but may not have enough time available, so the package needs new
contributors in its packaging team.
Current status is that the package lags behind on a few upstream versions.
Probably some work is needed to package those and resolve a few of the open
bug reports. Given phpBB's history it's very desirable that if it goes into
Debian stable, it releases with at the very latest upstream version and has
an active maintainer team.
I'm available for sponsoring if so required.
