Hi, Here is some information on the progress of packaging FreeFOAM. If there is somebody who would like to assist / collaborate, just let me know.
Packaging FreeFOAM against release 0.1.0rc4 is starting to get in good shape, including building from source using pbuilder. Currently, the next binary packages will be build: - libfreefoam: libraries for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) - libfreefoam-dev: libraries for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) - development files - freefoam: programs for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) - freefoam-user-doc: software for Computational Fluid Dynamics - user documentation - freefoam-dev-doc: software for Computational Fluid Dynamics - developers documentation Though there are still some issues: - Some lintian errors and warnings - Building with MPI enabled needs non-free parmgridgen-dev as libscotchparmetis does not yet cover fully the libparmgridgen functionality (see bug #582489). So, for the moment the FreeFOAM packages will have to reside in contrib :( - Waiting until formal first FreeFOAM release will be issued. Upstream developer is working on that.
