Using the name ‘python-foo’ indicates that this is a package primarily for use with Python. But the description you give strongly indicates that is not the case: This is a program to be used from the command line, and the user should not need to care that it's written in Python. So I would suggest the name should not have the ‘python-’ prefix. Since it converts the HTML to Markdown (and not to reStructuredText or other text markup) would it be better named ‘html2mdwn’ or ‘html2markdown’? That makes it clearer what the package is for, and doesn't imply that this is the *only* text markup format. > Description : A Python Script which converts HTML to Markdown Please follow the Best Packaging Practices for the package synopsis <URL:http://www.debian.org/doc/developers-reference/best-pkging-practices.html#bpp-pkg-synopsis>. It should be a simple noun phrase, not start with the article “A”, and should not have implementation details like the programming language (since as discussed above the user doesn't interact with it as a Python module). I would suggest: program for converting HTML to Markdown text The implementation language (and many other details) can be communicated by an appropriate debtag on the package, once it is in Debian. -- \ 德不孤、必有鄰。 (The virtuous are not abandoned, | `\ they shall surely have neighbours.) | _o__) —孔夫子 Confucius, 551 BCE – 479 BCE | Ben Finney <b...@benfinney.id.au> -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
