Not sure why I'm being CCed on this message, I certainly have nothing to
do with the Debian pencil ITPs. BTW, it is a good idea to CC the ITPs,
doing so with this message.

pencil is already available in Ubuntu:

http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=pencil

Perhaps you would like to suggest to the Ubuntu packager that it should
be put into Debian too.

I also made a package for pencil ages ago:

http://people.debian.org/~pabs/tmp/debs/pencil_0.4.3~b~ds.1-1.dsc

IIRC it worked at that time, but it would need updating.
