Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist It seems, that jQuery 1.3 is incompatible in some aspects to jQuery 1.2. See the full list here: http://docs.jquery.com/Release:jQuery_1.3#Changes
While software in Debian can be changed by us to work with the newer version, most users cannot (easily) change 3rd party software (e.g. jQuery plugins) to work with 1.3. Specifically, Trac in its current Debian version 0.11 should use jQuery 1.2 (recommended and supported version by upstream) and 1.3 only in the upcoming 0.12 release. Therefore, I would like to let Trac depend on libjs-jquery-1.2, not libjs-jquery. Trac 0.11 will probably be in squeeze, so it must be supported for some years... (Sidenote: It would have been better/less confusing to use e.g. 1.3+dak1-1 as version number, not 1.3.3-1. That's what I and others did in the past when facing problems with wrong/missing source tarballs or other issues with dak.
