I did now get to try some others (ssmtp, which does not fit my need, since missing possibility of user-specific configuration), and either msmtp has one disadvantage. With esmtp it was posible to have cronmails to root delivered to it. In conclusion: I would really apreciate it to keep esmtp maintained (upstream) by someone, and I would also like to help maintaining esmtp in Debian (I can take over, but not able to take over upstream development). Is there someone further around, with using esmtp and wanting to help on that? I have too contacted Fedora's maintainer for esmtp in case. Bests Salvatore
