Package: wnpp Version: N/A; reported 2001-08-16 Severity: wishlist I've found myself installing the newer cyrus imap system for a number of entities that are porting their proprietary systems to libre software.
Well, the cyrus imapd packaged for Debian is quite old; while stable, it is not being maintained upstream anymore, and lacks too many features (such as strong crypto support). I'll be packaging the complete Cyrus IMAP suite, sans Cyrus-murder, IMSP and ACAP. Crypto will be included (and there will NOT be a version without crypto), as will Sieve (server-side email filtering). The package will, if at all possible, separate the various subsystems just like the current cyrus-imapd package does. Kerberos will not be present in the first versions of the package, and unless someone shows up to help test it, support may never be included. -- System Information Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux godzillah.khazad-dum.debian.net 2.2.19 #1 Thu Mar 29 19:31:38 BRT 2001 i586 Locale: LANG=pt_BR, LC_CTYPE=pt_BR -- "One disk to rule them all, One disk to find them.
