Libapache-mod-repository can be used to create repository for content (images, html, pretty much anything...). Sample uses are an image server, a content server for a couple of differnent web logs, a place to archive messages for a BBS and a place to store anonymous content. Stored files can be retrieved by specifying a 32 character key.
