Package: wnpp Version: N/A; reported 2001-04-27 Severity: wishlist So I happened to look on Freshmeat and found this very nice-looking program called eBoard. It's a chess-playing program similar to xboard, and seems to be under active development. I have to admit that I haven't played much using it, and it seems to be very alpha at the moment; however, I like several things they seem to be doing, especially UI-wise.
Hopefully, if it continues to develop, this will provide a nice alternative to xboard and bring some more life to the world of GUI UNIX chess programs (which AFAIK is currently limited to "xboard or gnome-chess") Oh yeah, it's GPLed, the author is Felipe Bergo - [EMAIL PROTECTED], and the upstream Web page is http://eboard.sourceforge.net. Having that in the distribution would be nice. -- System Information Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux torrent 2.4.3 #1 Sun Apr 1 17:29:29 EDT 2001 i686 -- /-------------------- Daniel Burrows <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> -------------------\ | He had a terrible memory.
