In that discussion, several people have suggested the use of format=flowed as

solution.  Format=flowed is an RFC that proposes a system for

hard-wrapping text but including special codes that allow a receiving MUA to

but the fact that you are using a broken (or misconfigured) MUA doesn't say that everybody else has to change, it might be more of a hint that you might want to fix your mail setup. `-
