Since to the best of my knowledge it is *still* unheard of for developers to be banished from mailing lists or IRC channels because of *viewpoints*, I can only assume you're referring here to your own banning from debian-women@lists.debian.org by the listmasters, and from #debian-devel on irc.freenode.net by me. Neither of these bans were a result of your viewpoint; they were a result of your disruptive, off-topic and inflammatory *speech*: e.g., <http://lists.debian.org/debian-women/2004/07/msg00217.html>, <http://lists.debian.org/debian-women/2004/07/msg00239.html>. In the case of #debian-devel, you were banned from speaking on the channel as a result of your attempts to make the religious beliefs of other channel participants a topic of discussion, in spite of repeated indications to you that this was unwelcome. When I removed this channel ban, it was because you indicated your understanding and consent that further attempts to troll channel participants about their religious beliefs would be grounds for another ban. Since then, you've been a participant in the channel for quite some time without incident. Should I be considering this mailing list post of yours a retraction? -- Steve Langasek Give me a lever long enough and a Free OS Debian Developer to set it on, and I can move the world.
