Hello, When reading the IRC transcripts for the first question, I was a bit surprised no-one seemed to mention a new proposal I heard about (from debian-devel? Sorry, I can't remember right now). Perhaps Ben or Wichert were hinting towards this, I am not sure.
Anyway, the proposal was instead of having package <foo> declare itself to suggest <bar>, <bar> would have a "reverse suggests" that says it can enhance the functionality of <foo>. So, if you don't tell dselect (or whatever) about non-free, these suggests would never show up. Or, perhaps package pools offer a better way of dealing with this?
