Oh, thank you very much. My Debian box is now vrms compliant. Not a single non-free package. I have three or four non-free hand rolled products to remove and I'll be totally free. The hardest ones to get rid of: Allegro Common Lisp (never will be freed, demo version) Scheme48 (rumored that authors will put next version under Artistic License) scsh (same as Scheme48) Ocaml[tk] zip/unzip gimp-nonfree csound (tangled mess of a license) What is remarkable is that none of the non-free packages were actually ones that I used with much frequency on that machine. If I had apt or dpkg giving me warnings anytime I selected a non-free package, I could easily maintain this state of affairs. -- Craig Brozefsky <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Free Scheme/Lisp Software http://www.red-bean.com/~craig I say woe unto those who are wise in their own eyes, and yet imprudent in 'dem outside -Sizzla
