If someone ranks one candidate above NOTA, and another below, that means that he thinks the first is acceptable as DPL, and the second is not, so I don't think that should count as being clones. Another measure of "clones" would be to count the ballots that ranked two candidates equally, but that might give numbers that are too small to be meaningful at all.
