I hope that this package will be updated and fixed soon.
Got the same problem today and I found a working solution through Google:
move or remove /etc/console/boottime.kmap.gz (I moved it to /root just to be sure, so I could
have moved it back if the fix hadn't worked) and continue apt-get upgrade
Worked for me :-)
