Hi all,
I'm sure many of you have heard of or experienced the
nForce lockup problem. I was going through hell
because of it, then fixed the problem by recompiling
without APIC (or whatever that advanced power thing
is). Everything was great until I decided to upgrade
to kernel 2.6.5 (from 2.6.4). I built my kernel and
rebooted. I began to reinstall the nVidia drivers,
and it locked up while building the nVidia kernel (I
know it locks up when the num lock key stops changing
the LED and new consoles aren't created by alt+Fn). I
rebooted and installed my 2.6.4 package again, and
booted into that. I had to reinstall the nVidia
drivers, so I did. Started X. Used X
briefly...computer locks up. I rebooted and it locked
up in mid startx (with the screen still black). I
booted into windoze to write this, and after a month
of blackbox, windoze hurts my eyes.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
I'm using a NF7-S mobo w/ Athlon XP 1700+ (@ 2 GHz)

Thanks in advance,
Daniel Asarnow
