Okay, I'm completely lost on this one. I have one box that can't tell time and I don't know what's the matter with it.
when UTC is around Thu Apr 8 02:16:20 UTC 2004, this machine reports: # date -u && date Wed Apr 7 22:16:37 UTC 2004 Wed Apr 7 18:16:37 EDT 2004 # hwclock --show --utc Wed Apr 7 14:18:26 2004 -0.247566 seconds (root) condor-dc01:/etc # hwclock --show --localtime Wed Apr 7 18:18:30 2004 -0.728123 seconds Here are relevant time configuration snippets: from /etc/default/rcS: # Set UTC=yes if your system clock is set to UTC (GMT), and UTC=no if not. UTC=yes # l /etc/localtime lrwxr-xr-x 1 root root 36 Apr 7 17:27 /etc/localtime -> /usr/share/zoneinfo/America/New_York # l /etc/localtime lrwxr-xr-x 1 root root 30 Apr 7 18:11 /etc/localtime -> /usr/share/zoneinfo/US/Eastern # cat /etc/timezone US/Eastern Running '/etc/init.d/ntpdate start' does not fix the problem.
