Arne Goetje pointed me to excellent Chinese truetype fonts in: http://lists.debian.org/debian-user/2003/debian-user-200310/msg03881.html, they handle most encodings correctly.
I cannot remember which I want: ukai-mbe/, ukai/, uming-mbe/, uming/ from http://debian.linux.org.tw/pub/3Anoppix/people/arne/ The ukai-* fonts are 9.5 MB and the uming-* fonts are 7.5 MB, so I think I want ukai, but Arne previously said the best fonts were 12 MB. And I can't remember if I want *-mbe or not (I think not). Also, seperate but related question: what are the most preferred fonts for displaying al-jazeera and arabic correctly; ttf-kacst, the only such package in debian? -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
