You need to install a print filter, which is much like a print driver under Microsoft Windows.You can try CUPS too
I use ApsFilter with my HP printers. Run this command as the root user to install the package:
# apt-get install apsfilter
IIRC, the ApsFilter installer will print a colorful test page. If you get that far, then it should be easier to get additional instructions about how to configure the print subsystem from Google.
