Sometimes Western Digital drives don't mix well with other drives on
the same cable; sometimes you can get round this by playing games of
trial-and-error with their jumpers, but not always. Sometimes you get
one WD drive that shares OK and another apparently identical one that
doesn't. They tend to be better at sharing with other WD drives than
with drives of a different make, but again not always. (This behaviour
is a shame, because otherwise they're pretty solid drives.)
