One of Caps/Scroll/Num lock will force a menu. (I think its caps). Press tab to see the options. I assume the keyboard is plugged in. Have you checked the symlinks pointed to by lilo.conf? They could be pointing at the wrong image. > Is the "optional" stanza with no arguments a factor? Optional means that lilo won't fail if the image isn't present. Output of lilo should indicate this.
