Most often, kernel "oopses" come from one of two things:  hardware
problems, or a kernel bug.  I'm betting the former, especially
given the ones you got.

Install memtest86.  Make it possible to boot memtest86 by
modifying your grub menu or your lilo.conf (and running lilo),
depending on whether you use grub or lilo.  Then, boot memtest86
and run it overnight.
