Hi!
I want to install the latest version of XMMS that requires glib >= 1.2.2
Using dselect, I found out that I have 2 versions of glib installed:
1.2.10.4 and 2.2.3-0jds. I suspect that the ./configure script of XMMS
detects the older version instead of the newest one.
But why does dselect keep both versions? How do I do to make the newest
replace the oldest? dselect always tell me that there is a dependancy
problem if I try to unisntall the oldest.
Moreover, I get also this dependancy problem:
*** Opt gnome gnome-contro The GNOME Control Center for GNOME 2
*** Opt gnome gnome-termin The GNOME 2 terminal emulator application
*** Opt libdevel libgtk2.0-de Development files for the GTK+ library
*** Opt libdevel libpango1.0- Development files for the Pango
*** Opt libs libgtk2.0-0 The GTK+ graphical user interface library
*** Opt libs libpango1.0- Layout and rendering of internationalized
text
*** Opt libs libxft2 advanced font drawing library for X
*** Opt misc libgtk2.0-co Common files for the GTK+ graphical user
interface library
*** Opt misc libpango1.0- Modules and configuration files for the Pango
*** Opt x11 acme Enables the "multimedia buttons" found on
laptops
*** Opt devel libfontconfi generic font configuration library
(development files)
*** Opt devel libfreetype6 FreeType 2 font engine, development files
*** Opt devel xlibs-dev X Window System client library
development files
*** Opt libs libasound2 Advanced Linux Sound Architecture (libraries)
*** Opt libs libaspell15 The GNU Aspell spell-checker runtime toolkits
*** Opt libs libfontconfi generic font configuration library
(shared library)
*** Opt libs libfreetype6 FreeType 2 font engine, shared library files.
*** Opt utils fontconfig generic font configuration library
Can someone explain me what's going wrong? Because I don't see here any
problem, but still it always appear.
Thanks for any help,
Emmanuel
