Yes they do have different chipsets. I use to have the 395 but upgraded it to the 390. There is a driver in 2.6 for the 390T but it does not work with the 390u2w Brad

I don't know if your dc390 will work with the dc395x driver though-- I seem to remember that those two cards use different chipsets.
