It says your card has 4 MB of RAM. But only 256 K are used, which may explain the "insufficient memory" problems. > (II) VGA(0): Not using mode "640x480" (insufficient memory for mode) > I don' t know why is it so long. I have a diamond viper 550 monitor > card, driver rivatnt. The diamond viper 550 is a Nvidia TNT card. I am confused about the 4 MB of memory, I thought these cards had 16 MB. You need the "nv" driver, but it seems you use the "vga" driver. Switch to "nv" or "vesa". Run dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86 and select the correct driver. If you still have problems, show us the device and screen sections of /etc/X11/XF86Config-4. Keep in mind that if /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 exists, /etc/X11/XF86Config will be ignored. best regards Andreas Janssen -- Andreas Janssen [EMAIL PROTECTED] PGP-Key-ID: 0xDC801674 Registered Linux User #267976 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
