When I booted the Trixie net install disk, it didn't activate my AMD Radeon RX 580. It said there's a bug in the firmware. So I did a text instead of graphical install. After installation, it worked fine.
About a third of the way into the installation, the installer eventually gets around to asking whether I want to use GDM or SDDM for the login manager. So I can't start it, answer a few questions, partition the disks, and walk away until it's ready to set up grub. It would be helpful if it could ask all of its questions early. Years ago the installer presented a long list of stuff to install. I used that list to install my favorite editor (nedit) and LaTeX and gfortran and gthumb and …. Is that feature still hiding somewhere, or is it gone?
